The space
Spacious 70m2 apartment from the 18th century, located in the picturesque Bairro Alto neighbourhood, 2 double bedrooms, offers typical old street views from the small balcony, recently refurbished by ourselves with lots of dedication.

The sofa bed in the living room provides space for two more people. The layout is in the old Portuguese style of the late 1700s, so the bedrooms get their natural light from windows into the main living area and hall, rather than exterior windows.

Both rooms have large double beds, with fresh sheets and towels provided to all guests.
Bairro Alto is known for it’s restaurants, bars and fado houses. Here you can enjoy a walk through the old cobbled streets, eat proper traditional portuguese food and listen to some fado. In the evening, especially during the weekends, the streets are full of a mix of locals and tourists enjoying food, drinks and sun in the warm Portuguese weather. The flat is best suited to those who want to be right in the centre of Lisbon in a lively (and sometimes noisy, specially weekends) neighbourhood with lots of options for eating, shopping and drinking.

The double glazed windows help keeping the noise out during the busy weekend days but please note it’s a loud neighbourhood, specially in the summer, a hotspot for visitors with many bars and party. Bars and restaurants are open until late hours, and streets can be noisy and full of people until 2/3am affecting the apartment – this is the essence of Bairro Alto. Cancellations due to noise on the streets of Bairro Alto will not be refunded as guests are fully aware of their reservation’s conditions before booking their stay.

The flat is located on the 3rd floor, narrow steep stairs, with no lift access. It has natural sunlight, specially in the mornings despite the narrow streets.

Kitchen has all the standard appliances including a Nespresso coffee machine. You can buy coffee capsules at the Nespresso boutique in Chiado, 5 minute walk from the flat. Coffee capsules or ground coffee for the cafetière are not supplied. We recycle all used coffee capsules.

The flat has one air conditioning unit that can be moved around as required always near a window for the exhaust pipe.
The flat has two large ventilators that also can be moved around as necessary.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire flat during the rental period.
– Check out is at 11am and depending on the following guests schedules, you can leave your luggage for a longer period when possible. If you prefer to store your luggage somewhere else we can provide you with a list of local luggage lockers near the flat.
– Please note that for last minute reservations the check in hours can vary as the flat may not be ready at the usual hours. Please ask us when will you be able to check in for same day reservations, we will always try to accommodate you as early as possible.

Long term stays (15 days or more): All bills (water, electricity) are paid by the guests as an extra, gas must be bought separately, only internet and tv are included. Please ask for more details.
